The Wichita Family Crisis Center works to eliminate domestic violence in our community and is dedicated to helping survivors and their children through shelter, education, and advocacy. To that end, the Center provides life-saving services to approximately 1,800 women and children fleeing violence each year.

However, each month, due to lack of capacity, approximately 40 to 50 requests for emergency shelter go unmet, and the numbers of victims and children seeking shelter and services are increasing. The Center does not turn away victims and children. Instead, they will house families in local hotels, transport them to a shelter in another community or relocate them entirely. Notably, all of these options are costly and logistically challenging and necessitate events to raise both funds and community awareness.

On Saturday, March 6, 2021, the Center is hosting our signature fundraiser, Bootlegger’s Ball. With the help of many others in the community, we are working to make this year’s ball the best one yet, with new auction items and interactive entertainment before and during the event’s main program. But we cannot do it without your help.
